Inchcoonans competition and livery yard is situated between the Historical Royal Burgh of Perth, the Gateway to the Highlands and the port city of Dundee in the small historical village of Errol. The facility is easily reached being approximately 1/4mile from the main A90 road. A stone's throw away from the River Tay, and Sheltered from the cold north winds by the Sidlaw Hills to the north, the flat Kerselands is more commonly known as the Carse of Gowrie. This area rarely exceeds the height of 15m (50 feet) above sea level, which enables Errol, being one of the chief settlements of the Carse, to enjoy a milder all year around climate hopefully allowing us to hold more outdoor activities.
Livery Services
Full Livery Includes:
A heated, secure tack room with large individual storage units for tack and rugs has been provided which has a great communal feel to it, with its common room and chill out areas where you can enjoy making yourself something to eat or drink using the well equipped kitchen. More like home from home.
Inchcoonans is not a riding school! We are here to provide the service of looking after the welfare of your horse and to provide the best possible facilities by which you and your horse can enjoy your choice of equine discipline, with the use of top class equipment, professional guidance and within a safe, friendly knowledgeable environment. We are a small private family run livery yard which provides full livery service to our in house clients offering priority places, discounts on clinic’s and reduced rates for shows. We hold regular schooling evenings, clinics, pre show training nights, along with dressage and Show jumping shows for all standards and all are welcome.
The stables are all well lit and have good ventilation. Fields and paddocks are poo picked on a regular basis. A new addition late 2011 was the individual turnout pen which is 10m x 10m with an all weather surface. This has proved valuable for horses recovering from injury and coming off box rest. We hope to add more of these small pens in the future.
Indoor Arena (26m x36m)
The indoor arena has a Martin Collins surface. There is also wall of mirrors to help with the training of horses and flood lights for winter riding. We have 2 outdoor all weather surface arenas.
Outdoor Arenas
Our main arena is approx 40m x 60m and the wood side arena is approx 30m x 50m. Both have a rubber chip surface which helps them stay frost free in the winter. The main arena is flood lit and has a full set of British Showjumping style jumps and also a full set of working hunter fences. The wood side has a set of dressage white boards to assist with training.
500m of grass gallops and approx. 2000m of all weather surface gallops and tracks are available for liveries to use all year round.
Out on the tracks there are knockable fences, ditches, banks, drops, steps and a water complex with fences of varying difficulty.
Other facilities include a five bay horse walker, horse solarium and magnetic massage therapy unit.
